Four papers were selected to be part of the conference programme, which will be held between July 6 and 8, in Viña del Mar, Chile.
In the previous editions, TICAL presented in its programme papers of authors and young entrepreneurs, but in 2015 added the call for projects of interinstitutional collaboration, conducted by the national research networks which are members of RedCLARA and the institutions related to the ICT in Latin America. Among the chosen works, there are collaborations between institutions from Brazil, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina. To ensure the presentation of the projects, RedCLARA will reward one author for each selected work with the airfares to attend the Conference.
As well as in the other calls, All the submitted works were evaluated by the program committee integrated by Ernesto Chinkes - University of Buenos Aires (Argentina - President), Ruth Alvarez - Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (Ecuador), Fernando Fajardo - Universidad Autónoma de Chile (Chile), Roberto Price - Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Chile), Gabriel Silva - Universidad Federal Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Ronald Vargas - Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica (Costa Rica), who met in Santiago, Chile, during May 8 and 9.
The selected projects are:

2 - Repositorio Semántico de Investigadores, by CEDIA (Andrea Morales R) and Universidad de Cuenca (Victor Saquicela)
3 - PROPUESTA A UNIVERSIDADES DE LATINOAMERICA para incorporar temas de TECNOLOGÍA Y GOBERNANZA DE INTERNET en sus carreras UTILIZANDO HERRAMIENTAS TICS, by ISOC (Christian O'Flaherty) and LACNIC (Guillermo Cicileo)

Those who are interested in participating in the TICAL2015 Conference paying the promotional prices as registration fee should hurry. The period which gives the right to the attendees to register with lowered costs - determined by the organization - will end next Sunday, May 31.
After crossing South America, our series "Five questions to" arrived to Central America where we talked to one of the main exponents of ICT in the region: the salvadorain Rafael "Lito" Ibarra. In this interview, he tells us a little about his career and reveals his expectations for TICAL2015.
